A stone weighing 572 g was found in three separate pieces in the Libyan Sahara. It has a low shock stage of S1 and weathering grade of W1. It has been proposed that DaG 430 might be paired with DaG 429 (253 g), DaG 055, and DaG 056. Zhu et al. (2022) determined precise ε53Cr, ε54Cr, and ε48Ca values for DaG 429 and DaG 430, all of which show high consistency between the two meteorites and supports their pairing.
The possibility of pairing with DaG 055, which was previously considered to be a CVred3–an (Clayton and Mayeda, 1999), suggests a similar classification is appropriate for DaG 430 and other pairings. Wölfer et al. (2026) presented both new and literature Ti, Cr, and Mo isotope data for a large variety of meteorites and planetary bodies. The isotopic data for DaG 055 and likely pairings indicate a closer similarity to the CL parent body than to the CVred body, obviating the need for the anomalous suffix (see the comparative isotope table below).

In contrast with typical CV3 chondrites, which are strongly oxidized and essentially free of metallic FeNi, tiny metal flakes are present in DaG 430. The specimen of DaG 430 shown above is a 0.45 g partial slice. A close-up of a large slice of DaG 430 exhibiting metal within chondrules that are imbedded in a light gray groundmass can be seen in the top photo below, while the bottom photo reveals an interesting dark inclusion in this meteorite.
